Resilience

Resilience is on a lot of minds these days.  So, in the face of adversity, how do we become more resilient?  It seems that some treat resilience of as challenge, toughing it out “to win”.  Others seek escape, thinking that they will somehow be better off denying their reality.  And some just cope…surviving without thriving, waiting for things to pass.  None of this feels resilient to me.

We acquire resilience through learning, growing and exercising our strengths.  This is not about optimistic thinking, but about understanding reality, and adapting quickly to that reality.  Resilient people know the challenges facing them, and rise to those challenges with open eyes, clear purpose, and a willingness to learn, change, and take responsibility for themselves.

Are you becoming more resilient?  Would love your thoughts!
